C2RO PERCEIVE* AI Video Analytics Software Raises the Bar and Sets New Standards for GDPR Compliance in Europe

*ENTERA™ builds on the foundation of C2RO PERCEIVE™ and continues to leverage the principles of data minimization, security, and innovation with data privacy compliance at the core of the product development philosophy.

French Supervisory authority concurs that C2RO Perceive™ does not present high residual risks for the privacy rights of individuals as deployments expand across Europe.

Montreal, Canada – June 3, 2020 – C2RO has proudly announced today that the CNIL, an independent French administrative regulatory body whose mission is to ensure that data privacy law is properly applied by technology firms, concurred with C2RO’s Office of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) that the company’s AI video analytics solution C2RO PERCEIVE™, does not present a high residual risk for the privacy rights of individuals. This represents a significant step in C2RO’s commitment to ensuring compliance with European regulations including GDPR for protecting personal data while delivering state-of-the-art mission-critical AI software products to businesses and communities across Europe.

“Having the CNIL concur with the privacy impact assessment of our DPO Dr. Gerard Haas, a leading expert in data privacy regulations, significantly validates and reinforces our ‘Privacy by Design’ culture”, says Riccardo Badalone, Chief Executive Officer of C2RO. “This milestone bolsters confidence and trust in our software products and allows us to accelerate our expansion into the European market including new vertical segments such as Smart Transportation and Public Safety.”

Dr. Gerard Haas and his associates worked for almost a year carrying out an in-depth Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), which represents an audit of the C2RO’s organizational, technical and physical safety measures related to the software product Perceive™. Dr. Haas also works closely with DPO counterparts at Tier1 customers to ensure compliance with data privacy laws before the deployment and use of Perceive™ at each customer site. Going further than the necessary protocols for GDPR compliance, C2RO submitted its PIA to the CNIL for an added layer of confidence and maximum transparency, significantly raising the bar and setting a new standard in the industry for AI video analytics companies.

“Compliance with data privacy regulations is a vector of trust for citizens and is at the heart of our approach. Technological innovation cannot move forward without accountable and transparent developers, and we are proud to say that C2RO is one of them”, says Dr. Gerard Haas, Data Protection Officer of C2RO.

C2RO Perceive™ is in a class of its own with its unique biometric-free inter-camera reconnection capability and short-term data anonymization technique, making it possible to keep only relevant behavioural and socio-demographic statistics of the population frequenting any physical facility. With actionable insights on customer behaviour, business operations and facility performance, businesses can develop data-driven strategies that maximize operational efficiency, ensure the safety of their physical spaces, and effectively drive business growth.
